Not a bad finale to an otherwise mediocre season. The whole mystery aspect about who Drew Thompson was just wasn't a strong enough arch storyline to carry the season, which is why we were given small subplots that didn't really add to anything other than to be filler, I.E. the snake preacher and his sister coming into town and the bartender chick stealing Raylin's money with her boxer BF. One thing I always loved about the series was its organized crime aspects, so hopefully they go back to that next season and give us a strong enough storyline that won't seem like such a time waster.

I wished the finale was a better gun battle of sorts, I was hoping Raylan and Boyd would duke it out, for a minute there I thought they were going to. I really hope the next season we will see more run ins between the two since there has been a turn of events for Boyd and he will likely go on another campaign of trying to reclaim Harlen again.

If Eva stays pinched, which seems like a foregone conclusion, Boyd has little reason for restraint. Those Harlan society douchebags should be the first on his list when he sets out to re-establish who runs Barter Town.

Side note - liked the Elmore Leonard tribute they did at the beginning of the seasoner opener.

Agreed, good finale. How everything turned out felt very fitting for the show. This final season was an improvement over last season, but the third season is probably my favorite. A little sad to see it end, but it's for the best since they could only go so far with the storyline. I'd give the series a solid 7-rating overall.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Justified is coming back!

The new series is called Justified: City Primeval with Timothy Olyphant set to reprise the role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens.

the new show picks up with Givens eight years after he left Kentucky behind. He now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 14-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well.

There's no release date set, but I'm guessing it'll be out sometime next year on FX. Either way, I can't wait to see it

Read about this earlier. I'm not one to easily get hyped, but fuck me, I'm hyped for this. Justified was a terrific show, with excellent, three dimensional characters, outstanding writing and fantastic performances. Even Elmore Leonard, upon whose stories the show was based, was so impressed with it (and Tim Olyphant in particular) that his final novel, "Raylan," was based on the character not as he himself wrote it previously, but as Olyphant depicted him in the show.

Whew. This morning I won nine bucks on scratchers, now I'm getting a new season of Justified. This has been a quality Friday.

Anyone catch the new series? I really enjoyed it, despite some iffy writing in parts, but that's to be expected. The show overall felt like it never ended, which is pretty much what I had hoped for. Really liked the new lead villain this season, even tho he unrealistically got away with way too much, but I digress. Hopefully we see another season, especially with how this one ended.

Finished the season (series?) finale after work today. Not quite up to snuff with the fantastic original series -- the more laxed streaming standards allowed the characters to drop plenty of superfluous F-bombs for no other reason than that they could, and I didn't find the lead villain quite as compelling as you'd expect from previous seasons. But overall I enjoyed this revival quite a bit. Always good to see Olyphant in the role, the new cast of supporting characters was interesting, and the surprise return of a character from the old series was a welcome addition. Definitely leaves itself open for a second season, and I hope we get it.
