checked out another one of the Afterdark Horrorfest flicks. This one called "The Final". I really really enjoyed this film. Its about a bunch of kids who get tortured in highschool, they devise a plan to get back at all "popular" kids. They get all the kids at a party, and then drug them. When the kids wake up they are chained to the floor and all the rejects are dressed in creepy costumes. And of course torture insues.
I felt like this movie was done really well. you follow the kids as they make there plans before the party, the director and writers don't treat the audience like morons. They dont try to make it a "who done it". You know who done it, the flick doesn't try to hide that. Anyone who watches this movie will automatically think of Columbine and other school shootings I think. You feel bad for the rejects because the bullies are portrayed so well, you really really hate them. And I'm glad there was a character that was not one of the rejects but did stick up for them. Highschool bully movies tend to forget there are people like that in highschool too, you can't stereotype every single person in a classroom. Although hollywood loves doin it. But even though the bullies are complete assholes you feel for them during the movie. How far is to far? Is it ok to cut pieces off them cuz they were mean to you?
I loved the rejects too, the guy that plays the banjo was creepy and so was the girl Emily and Dane with his "ghostface" like voice coming from his mask. But they didn't make any of them seem super human. They all seemed like real people. The creepy characters werent so creepy they didnt feel real. I dug this movie, it'll make you choose sides quick. And make you think. And on top of that its entertaining and creepy. Cool flick, you should give it a shot.
