Through Nightmares 2 to 8 which Freddy do you like or hate?

I always though parts 4 and 5 were cool. That motorcycle kill in part 5.

I hated part 4. Part 5 was tolerable. I thought the motorcycle death was contrived and overblown. Dude was driving to his girlfriend in distress and falls asleep at the wheel?

I hate the new makeup. I may change my mind after seeing the movie, which I will invariably get around to some day.

Anyway, I have the director's cut of part 5 on VHS. The ghosts make a lot more sense, and the first two death scenes are expanded on very well. No hating on that one. The Director's Cut of part 5 and (of course) part 3 are my favorite sequels.

New Nightmare was... damn. Semi psychic little kid in peril. I hate that genre. You can also hear in the director's commentary that the studios got scared of the gore in the movie. Or rather, the complete lack of gore. Absolutely my least favorite. The scenes that doesn't involve Freddy in Freddy's Dead were good. But it still has to go as my second least favorite, if in a guilty pleasure way.

I haven't seen the Director's Cut on any of the nightmares so I can't really comment on your take on part 5. Of course we share the same love for part 3. New Nightmare was a bitter disappointment considering it was Wes Craven and yeah... I hate Freddy's Dead. No guilt.

Not a big fan of the series in general. (That's why I'm kinda looking forward to the reboot.) That supermarket scene was cool as shit. Freddy being scary - no joking around, just scaring the piss out of the chick! Didn't even speak! Loved it.
1 is my favorite as it was dark and gritty - although some of the acting sucked. 2 wasn't really that bad. Which one was in 3d? That was terrible! - I only watched each one once except part 1, so I may have to go back to be fair. But I remember the rest all sucking.

You gotta go back BigFatOgre. Part 3 is definately worth a retread.

Yeah the remake's supermarket scene does help sell the movie. Not long before we all give into curiosity and/or expectation.

Dream Warriors is my favorite Freddys Revenge I can do without.

Dream Warriors is way in front. Freddy's Revenge is misunderstood.

I alwasy dug the Freddy in Part 3, I think the perfect blend od jokey and dark... Part 2 I think is underared. Besides the gay undertones, the movie isn't horrible. It's really Dark and has some memorable scenes IMO./

I just like the original. Part 3 wad decent but the rest are not the greatest, a one time view.

Freddy's Dead has just a few minutes in 3D towards the very end, including his death. I'm guessing they couldn't afford to do the whole thing in 3D.

Right now my friend and I are doing a Nihgtmare marathon. I would have to say the 1st Freddy was awesome for opening up the character and will always remain in my eyes the best Freddy. In new nightmare is where they stepped it up a bit on him and truley elaborated on making him just evil. Not a big fan on them giving him a knife on his thumb but to each there own

I'm currently writing a blog peice on New Nightmare - it is so hard to get into. On the evidence of this perhaps it's a good thing Wes isn't involved in the remake. He's said and done all he needed to on his subject.

Post Script I don't think Scream 4 will be any good - seeing as 2 & 3 were crap.
