    Exclamation POLL: Insidious Chapter 2

Okay I want to know what everyone (who has seen it of course) thinks of Insidious Chapter 2 compared to the first. I personally find the sequel much better! The way this movie ties into the first was GENIUS! So, back to the topic, which did you find better? Comment!

I was totally underwhelmed by the first. The Conjuring didn't have quite as many moments that provoked a groan or giggle but I think I'm done letting James Wan and that whole crew try to impress or scare me. I'd rather just go watch Poltergeist and The Entity again.

Poltergeist and The Entity are both good movies! Although James Wan is certainly not the best horror movie director there's ever been, I do believe he is getting better.

Yeah, the problem isn't necessarily him as the director he just needs to be given better scripts to make. He's perfectly capable, technically speaking, even if I think there are certain cultural influences that make his perspective on Americana come off a little strange. I wish he could slow down and give his actors quiet moments to act and didn't seem to regard acting as speaking lines written on a page. That and the camera doesn't need to always be moving.

He's not really a writer though so there's a cap to how good his films are going to be based on who his writing partners are and so far none of them appear capable of creating a vehicle for him to become one of the greats with films that outlive their creator.
