Prom Night isn't even a horror flm, the writers and directors, said "it's not a horror film, don't market it as one'. Yet the studio marketed it as one, and n00bz still think it is a horror film..

Clive Barker overrated!?, Maybe with horror fans but even that is not overrated. King might be but I love the fucker and he's kicked our ass with great horror for 4 decades now.

Midnight meat train was weak to me... not so much the story, but the cgi bothered me

I think Clive Barker is an inventive writer. He creates worlds we may have never thought of and creatures that come from your darkest nightmares. I would like to know where he gets most of his ideas from. Not to mention he's an artist so can actually draw what he is picturing in his mind. I've always loved Stephen King, though sometimes he has the habit of rambling on.
I would give my list, but this thread could generally cause a big fight. Ha Ha. So I will keep my opinions to myself, but some of the "shocking" ones mentioned I kind of agree on. Mainly because when I watched most I was always garnered with the hype so expected too much though I can see how most are classics. I will say when I saw "The Exorcist" I was bored and I was 12 at the time I saw it. Though I laughed my ass off when she started swearing, kind of sad that most young kids today DO talk like that. And when I saw the original TCM...I kind of laughed (when she was screaming and running in the woods from Leatherface. In fact, my father did too and he's not even a huge fan of horror. )......Though I love they got the inspiration somewhat from Ed Gein. All I'm saying besides that.

Clivfe Barker is a talented writer and artist, but this is about movies, and most of the movies his name gets attached to don't live up to the hype.
And Rose, don't be a wimp. Say what you will...then accept your lashes with the internet noodle and if you are tough enough to survive then so be it...if your feelings get hurt and you need to quit then you will be like the hundreds and hundreds of others that come to UHM.
I promise we wont be too hard on you

Midnight Meat Train was being hyped as like the end all be all next huge horror movie (amongst horror fans not the mainstream) every horror site including this one was covering the shit out of that movie then it came out and I saw it was my reaction was "meh"

I agree with you on that one... I thought it was terrible, but that would make MMT an overated movie, not Cliver Barker an overated writer
