This is probably one of the darkest crime/thrillers I've seen in a while, especially coming out of South Korea. The film opens with the mutilated body of a young female and the police quickly find a suspect, who soon admits to being the killer. The story revolves around the medical examiner of the girl's body, as he's forced to side with the killer and tamper with the evidence against the man before he's convicted of the crime. If he doesn't free the killer from police custody before he's convicted, the examiners daughter (whom the killer's accomplice has held hostage somewhere) will be killed.
The pic is interesting from the start, not shying away from the brutality of the crime and kicking into gear pretty early with the examiner being forced to do what he can to set the killer free. There's a nice cat-and-mouse game that's played in the flick between the crafty killer and intelligent examiner. To add to the already thick tension, we also have a smart female detective on the case, who just so happens to be a former student of the examiner and gets closer to the truth behind what's going on as time goes on.
If you like crime thrillers or serial-killer-type flicks that keep you guessing then give this a check. As I said, it's a pretty dark flick, especially when the truth is revealed at the end.
