I hated the remake.
And it's not just A Nightmare on Elm Street. Why do all remakes suck? Don't the studios realise that the better the film the more money they make in the long run? I suppose the individual execs are only there for the short term so screw the Horror Folk right?
Rather than just bitch about their 2010 blurred photocopy I've decided to put my money where my writing is. I'm going to write a (spec) screenplay for the remake of the first sequel. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge may be a flawed film but I believe there's a great story in there. I'm going to write it.

If Platinum Dunes ever do make a sequel I hope we would have shamed them into making a good one.
