Har - I watched Noroi last night....hmmm - it was "okay" a couple of bits made me suck in da air (esp the IR bit near the end), and the ending was cool ... it's top of the reserve list

I'm going to go with steel's film and give her martyrs.... hehe now that put the shitters up me, so we'll see what it does to her

Cheers for the suggestion guys - I'm going for a Part 2 in a couple of weeks and will probably use other titles like Shutter, Stir and Red Shoes....and to cap it off, I may drop in Frontieres

It is actually quite tough to find a decent scare movie that isn't asian - maybe it's a lesson us over here in the west need to take on board for future

What the hell was so scary about The Happening other than how boring it was.

I didn't read the IMDB comments or any review beforehand and watched it about 2 years later by coincidence so I was totally unbiased. Yes, when I learnt it was some kind of a deadly wind in the end it was a bit of a disappointment but it started off really good as the viewer had no idea what was going on that made the characters commit suicide or just die mysteriously and THAT was the scary part. The average slasher horror (i.e. Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street original or remakes) doesn't scare or impress me at all because you can totally predict the outcome of it.

Guess it's a personal taste because if I look at my top 3 horror movies they all have an mysterious element going on that makes the viewer wonder what the hell is happening. (Rec, Noroi, Cube)

edit: now I've read that Martyrs been recommended by so many I'm going to check that out next!
