Taste The Blood of Dracula - One Of The Best Ever Drac Films!

Being an ardent Christopher Lee, I think that Taste The Blood of Dracula was one of the greatest Dracula movies ever. But then again, I enjoyed ALL of Mr Lee's Dracula films!

No way is it one of the best Dracula films. It's not even a good Hammer movie but just a mediocre passable piece of entertainment. The very best of the series for me is HOD, DPOD and DHRFTG.

My review of Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970).

I'm sorry, but I don't agree with any of you in your disparaging of Taste The Blood of Dracula. On the contrary, as I have already said, I thought it was superb film, but then one man's meat etc. ..

Taste the Blood of Dracula is a great flick and a lot of fun. Dracula's demise, though, was extremely weak.

You missed the part where he said he personally thinks it's one of the best.

Dracula A.D. 1972 I feel is the most underrated. Yes, it 'updates' the series to -1972- but it still keeps the gothic atmosphere. And Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are great as always.

1972 was a lot of fun as well. Really liked the moment between Dracula and Van Helsing in the opening and ending. Great stuff.

You don’t need to apologize for not agreeing and sticking to your guns. The more power to you for sticking to your opinion. There is no problem with your liking of the film if you enjoy it then that’s fine. I can watch the movie as just a passable piece of entertainment. It’s not outright bad as it’s a lot better than any in the series that followed it. However, it’s just not on the same level as HOD, DPOD and DHRFTG and it’s not even as good as TBOD, which is solid. It’s not in the same league of filmmaking. Its screenplay is very problematic with great leaps in logic and the film undermines both the great Christopher Lee and the fantastic Ralph Bates. It’s nowhere near one of the best Dracula/vampire movies.

No I didn’t. He stated his opinion that he thinks, “that Taste The Blood of Dracula was one of the greatest Dracula movies ever”. I think it isn’t. Therefore, being a discussion forum I voiced my opinion that it’s not as I have valid views as to why it’s not. I think you “missed the part” that this is a message board where people have different opinions. It might come as a surprise to you but people might actually not like the same films as you.

Woah simmer down there. In no way did I deserve this kind of attitude. I was just pointing out it was his opinion because you made it out like he said it was the greatest Dracula in general. I was just clarifying.

I enjoy Horror of Dracula but it's not my favorite. Risen from the Grave is my favorite.

Haven't seen Prince of Darkness, Scars, Satanic Rites and Seven Brothers, though.

I picked up a 4-movie collection at Frys with HoD, DHRFtG, DAD1972 and TtBoD and enjoyed them all as a kid. HoD was the first movie I ever got in trouble for watching as a kid of about four or five. I'll have to do a Dracula-a-thon one of these days and re-introduce them to myself. I bought it initially just to get AD1972 so that's the only one I've watched since, at the latest, high school age.

Looking at the back, they're "Rated G". LOLWUT!

My apologies. Just a misunderstanding. It's very easy to take people the wrong way online. Although, I was just saying that I disagree that TTBOD ranks up there with the best Dracula films.
