80s film about a deformed creature stalking three women

I remember seeing this film when I was younger about this like deformed monster creature who kills like two women and then the third woman is a reporter coming to the town and she's stalked by the monsterous being.

I don't' know if anyone even knows this film, but I do remember it being quite good and above average and actually kind of scary. I think it might have been made in 1982 or 1983 but if anyone knows it, that would be great.

i think warbeast is right i watched 1/2 of the unseen last year and that sounds about right

One kill I remember from The Unseen, was where a chick drops something down in a furnace grate in the floor and the big mongoloid killer gets ahold of her scarf through the grating and pulls her down and smooshes her face into the grate over and over...
