Based on the manga (and I think there was an anime too), this is a Japanese film that follows a ninja named Kamui who flees from his clan, only to spend the rest of his life being hunted down by them. He eventually finds solace in a small fairly unknown fishing village, but it's not long before his past catches up to him...
This is a flawed, but enjoyable ninja flick. How much you'll enjoy the movie is dependent on your state of mind and how much you're willing to overlook. For instance, there's some good action in the beginning, but also a lot of noticeable CGI effects, which may turn a lot of people off. The swordplay isn't bad and the film offers some interesting characters and a cliched, but likable story, despite a lot of scenes being glossed over by narration.
Even with its flaws, I had a nice time watching the movie. There were a lot of scenes that reminded me of anime (naturally given its source) and I was in the right mood for a ninja pic since hadn't seen a decent one in quite a while. If you're looking for a new ninja movie then I'd say give this a check
