You know you saw it and you know it sucked. It's the one with Eddie Murphy and the kids and Jennifer Tilly is in a ball and some other stupid crap happens.

Well, Disney has seen the error of their ways and following Disney’s Tron: Legacy presentation at Comic-Con today, director Guillermo del Toro popped out to announce he is be developing a NEW big screen adaptation of the Haunted Mansion. Guillermo promises that this time, the movie will actually be "scary" and says that he is not returning any of Eddie Murphy's calls to star.

As for his involvement, Guillermo has a big stake it in: co-producer, co-writer and director.

this could be really sweet. I love a good haunted house movie. And Del Toro could deffinatly deliver. The first one with Eddie Murphy was so bad I don't remember hardly any of it. I couldn't believe with the success of Pirates they half assed Haunted Mansion like they did.

That was my major gripe too. It was like they didn't even try and only cared about the money it would bring in on the heels on Pirates. What kind of major motion picture company would do that!?!

If theres any Disney's intervention in the process of making that film, most likely its going to suck. Modern disney doesn't care about good stories anymore, it only cares about bringing in new franchises to whore.
