- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Tobe Hooper) 1974 - overrated but a huge deal for its time
- Demons (Lamberto Bava) 1985 - a horror masterpiece
- The Howling (Joe Dante) 1981 - one of the best movies in the sub-genre
- Day Of The Dead (George A. Romero) 1985 - Underrated and best of Romero's original trilogy IMO

- Near Dark (Kathryn Bigelow) 1987 - great movie and an original concept
- Black Sheep (Johnathan King) 2006 - soon to be cult film, hilarious
- Dolls (Stuart Gordan) 1987 - meh
- Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood (John Carl Buechler) 1988 - love Hodder in this but the whole "carrie" thing was lame
