Finally got around to watching the flick -- I thought it was alright. It's entertaining, at least, but I can see why there's so much hate for it considering the story is just completely silly, but that's to be expected if you've viewed the trailer.

I loved the visual style and there are a lot of badass action sequences, but it's almost as if director Zack Snyder took all his favorite movies and anime and just blended it all together in one mish-mash of action and FX. Had there been a stronger story I would've dug it much more, but as it stands, it's a decent watch and not a bad way to spend a couple hours of your time, but only if you're willing to turn your brain off the entire time. The music is also surprisingly rockin

6/10 (but a high 6)

On a side note, the best sequence for me would definitely have to be the undead nazi army, pretty badass That alone should have been made into a movie

Loved this ride. It was the first time in a long time I felt like I got more than my time and money's worth going to the theatre.

The opening is textbook filmmaking use of montage too. The story is actually awesome. The problem is audiences have almost completely lost their ability to follow visual storytelling and need exposition to explain how to interpret what they're seeing, ala Inception.

The samurai battle alone was worth the price of admission. Production design was stellar. It was discerning taste that gave a hottie an UMP-45 and not just another MP5.
