The Hellraisers are some of my favorite horror movies. Why do they keep re-making classics? They're classics for a reason - you can't make them any better! So what if it involves new CGI fancy effects.

I don't know, I grew up with Hellraiser as a child (born in 84) I'm not looking forward to seeing it being trashed..

well you can't really knock it for that since Barker wrote the book, the screenplay and directed it... if someone wants to stray from the source it should be the guy who wrote it.

The remake will at least be interesting to see. Pulling more from the book and changing up the outfits will at least be interesting. I will probably just treat this like Nightmare on Elm Street. If someone I know rents of buys it I'll watch it with them I am not spending my money.

Agreed I dont know the last time I actually paid to see a remake - no joke - its always been that someone else rents the remake and I end up seeing it.

Crazies was pretty good...
I love the original, but I'm fine with the idea of a revamp... but I recall seeing a picture of one of the ideas for the "new" Pinhead and he looked more like a Zombie with nails stuck in his head... I didn;t like that.

Regardless, I'm not psyched about this. Seems remakes these days are more about money-grabbing than entertainment or a passion for horror (with a few exceptions). It's a sad state of affairs when 90% of major horror releases are remakes. I'd like to see someone adapt Barker's "The Damnation Game".

fair enough point but, if we all saw the remake of the shining *with stephen webber* it was a pretty good adaptation of the book, but a really horrible movie.
As for a hellraiser movie, my biggest fear of it would be how they would create a new Pinhead. there were some pictures ciculating around the internet about a year ago in regards to a possible idea of how xipe totec would look, without giving too much away they were bloody and franky rather disgusting. my appeal to hellraiser (which may be different from all of yours mind you) was the fact that pinhead was and always will be in a dark, lustful erotic way, very elegant. obviously when you get to the point of finding thelamont confuguration, and actually using it, I can only imagine that pinheads final arrival would be somewhat a relief(both sexual and physicial no doubt) . I would be so horrified if they changed him into a blood thristy manaic just intent on killing anyone and everyone. This idea goes hand and hand with the remakes of both halloween and nightmare on elmstreet. Mike Myers in the original had a mission, and killed only those on his mission, where as the new mike myers was basically killing anything that got in his path. freddy was getting revenge on those who wronged him through their children, making each and everyone of them an innocent, with no knowledge of why this was going on. And in the remake, he was a child molester ( which in its own right was EXTREMELY insulting - as much as the crimes of a child molester and a child killer are both horrific, resorting to making an icon that all of us plastered on our walls in posters and wore as tshirts into a blood kid toucher, is pretty much a serious insult.)
forgive the ramble, remakes do not bother me so much, but over the past few years, they have been nothing but dissapointment and humiliation. I would probably cry if they put any shame to pinhead and the cenobites to appease the tastes of this brainless generation.

Dough Bradley is officially NOT in the next film in the beating a dead horse franchise AKA Hellraiser. So maybe they'll finally remake this crap now.

i dunno...to me hellraiser 2 is sort of a remake of hellraiser anyway...it just expanded on the storyline, gave us more of the cenobites and for its time the effects were awesome.

a remake couldn't be worse than any of the straight to dvd releases.

i actually just saw hellraiser 3...i remember watching it in theaters and thining how much it sucked (the cd cenobite cracked me up) and this time around i had fun which is really all i ask for in these things.

i could live with this...but a "real" (i.e. theatrical release) sequal could work just as well.

bradley could actually reprise his role as pinhead...its not as physical as being freddy or jason is...but really...its a pale blue guy with nails in his head...anyone with an english accent could pull it off...
