I remember watching back in the 80's an anthology show episode that was fairly amusing.... but there have been several anthology series out there and I can't remember which one this came from...
The episode basically is about this actor who is playing the part of a mummy in a movie production. He is completely in costume and can not speak or walk properly due to the makeup and costume itself... At one point of the show, he gets a call that his pregnant wife is giving birth to his first child... So he leaves the movie set and goes through all kinds of hell trying to get to the hospital to be there for the birth... people freak out when they see him... I even think there was a mob-scene where they are chasing him through the streets...
At the same time all of this is transpiring, a real mummy comes to life and somehow it manages to end up on the movie set, where the crew all think it's the actor... The final scene of the show, shows the make up crew, unwrapping the real mummy, thinking they're just removing the makeup from their actor...
Again, this was an episode of some anthology series... I think it was before Tales from the Crypt or Monsters.. I'm wanting to say it was either Amazing Stories, Tales from the Darkside, or the 80's Twilight Zone... perhaps none of those...
