Phantasm V 'o where art though

Had a quick look around the net last night to find what was happening with this and found:

    1. According to horrormovies.ca Coscarelli has completed the script for it and that the remakes are dead in the water.

    2. Went to the 'Official website' and nothing mentioned there.

    3. Found the 'old' UHM site for this and read about trying to get Bruce Campbell etc etc but apparently shot down by short-sighted retard execs.

So anyone got any ideas of what is happening here? The thing with Campbell sounded like it would of ended the series on a bang.

Here's the new UHM page for it http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/phantasm-5

Sadly, nothing really new to report.

Thanks boss, I appreciate that. Very sad that this is not getting anywhere.

Funny, the execs can waste millions on CRAP but won't fund this.

Because scream 4 and saw 80 is clearly more important. I've yet to hear anything on this either, I get all kinds of retarded emails from various sites on new horror flix, but the phantasm myth had not been mentioned in a while.

I guess movie execs like to play it safe. Never mind that if they went with the "Bruce Campbell Idea" it should bring in the movie going public to see this movie.

I think it's more about the funding, yeah execs are total snobby bitches that love to pick out what's good for the general public to watch or what is complete crap...hey, you know what? Unless any of those execs are fans of horror from the beginning of the 70s throughout the 80s and mid 90s, I'd have to say they really don't know shit from a chocolate bagel. Remakes, remakes, remakes...especially remakes to old movies that were classic in those times that still hold up to his current age that are completely unneccessary to remake, I'm tired of it...I'm tired to hearing about movies that idiots who hang out at gangsta bars and listen to Jonas Bros think are good when they're actually NOT.

Anyway...I would give ANYTHING for a Phantasm V, just to finish off the series, and deffinately have Bruce Campbell included for a big finale, and make it into a theatrical release, there's plenty of Phantasm fans out there that can guarentee a big boxoffice blowout just to see their favorite characters and ultimate villain on the big screen one last time, especially since Angus Scrimm, religious-fanatics-bless-his-soul, is aging and isn't getting any younger, I even heard from some people who met him that he didn't seem so good at times, I know I met him and he seemed great! But to tell you the truth I don't doubt the rumors.

I say unleash the kniving-drilling silver spheres onto the execs and have the Tall Man take over the industry and give us the final and biggest conclusion to one and probably only psychological horror stories ever created! Bring back Reggie! Bring back Mike! Bring back Jodie! And bring back the TALL MAN! "BooOOOOOYYYY!!!"

If I can win the lottery, I'd give Don and George Romero some finances to make these films...keep good old horror alive while it still can...before bastardizing "horror-enthusists" rape the video store stock forever...hell, you probably wouldn't be able to find an original Nightmare on Elm Street movie in 2016..

I'm a HUGE fan of the phantasm series. Finally completed my DVD collection when #2 was released a while back. (Would love to get a Region 2 player so I can get the Sphere Box Set). I really hope Coscarelli finds a way to get this made before Angus Scrimm departs. This is the first I've heard about Bruce Campbell possibly being involved. It's hard for me to imagine since they had a falling out with "Bubba Nosferatu". The last information I read was that Roger Avery had written a script where the Tall Man has wiped out most of America, but it was deemed to expensive to shoot for the budget they had. Looks like "Bubba Nosferatu" is up next on Coscarelli's chopping block. Hopefully if that one does reasonably well, we'll see a new "Phantasm" shortly after.

Coscarelli's also working on the movie John Dies At The End from what I understand. I would give anything to see them finally finish this and bring part 5 out, but sad to say, I really doubt its going to happen, at least not anytime in the foreseeable future.

I dunno. I didn't like the fourth movie, but I could've sworn that WAS supposed to be the end because...

    Spoiler...
    Mike kinda died.

Sad,but it will never happen.I think Coscarelli has lost interest in a sequel and Angus Scrimm is pushen 85,I know he's still acting, but I dont think he could play the Tall Man again.Just my opinion.

I think we have a better chance getting a remake of the original first.

Can't say I'd be happy for a "Phantasm" remake, but if they did do it, who would you like to see cast?

Some big shoes to fill for The Tall Man, but I think Ed Harris could pull it off. He has a pretty sinister look.

I think Larry Fessenden would make a good Reggie.

No ideas for Mike or Jody.
