I’m keen on watching movies coming from my own country, Scandinavian countries or Spain. Let’s give a few names of Spanish movies for those who may be interested:
-) the day of the beast by Alex de la Iglesia: horror comedy, I created a thread about it
-) intacto by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 weeks later): interesting movie dealing with Luck. Don’t expect a lot of action, the mood and the acting do it all very well here. Max von Sydow is once again fabulous in a movie. The music helps creating a great mood. You have to know that the rhythm is slow but if you can appreciate that I think you’ll be rewarded by an interesting movie.
-) rec. : movie you already all know but I had to name it as a kind of principle (description edited haha)
-) el arte de morir/the art of dying : a young man has been missing for a long time and the investigator suspect his former friends to know what happened… then strange events began to occur… I love this movie! Great mood, not much action because the mood does it all as long as the script and the concept which is pretty interesting. Some elements deal with fantastic issues and I liked it
-) el rey de la Montana/king of the hill: interesting action movie with a stupid and disappointing end. Have to be honest: I found it ridiculous/stupid/disappointing. The movie was ok with people by chased in the mountains but it ruined a part of the good impression it did on me.
-) the nameless by Jaume Balaguero: thriller dealing with the search of a lost girl who may be not dead finally… very somber and dark. I loved the end of the movie which won’t fit most standards. Don’t expect joy and hope in this movie haha One can see with this movie this guy was meant to direct dark movies or even horror movies.
-) dagon: gore movie by Stuart Gordon, I’ve created a thread about this one too, funny gore movie about people having to deal with mad worshippers of Dagon. Fun, blood and big boobs yeah
There are other films that have to be mentioned:
-) darkness by Jaume Balaguero: seen a long time ago but I liked it. With cute Anna Paquin and Lena Olin. It deals with a family discovering a new home with a dark past. And now things will happen once again…
-) fragile by Jaume Balaguero: unseen atm
-) occult by Antonio Hernandez: unseen atm
-) the abandoned by Nacho Cerda: unseen atm but is said to be interesting. Deals with a woman going back home to face mysteries…
-) rec.2: unseen atm
There are many other movies but I don't know them all and don't want to make some name dropping. Hope you'll enjoy some of these movies...
