All I see here is yet more proof that anyone, anywhere, can completely miss the point and take a non-serious film seriously. Exactly like some idiot complaining about the unrealistic nature of action flicks like "Shoot 'em Up" or "Smokin' Aces 2".

I won't deny the quality of some of his works. But some kind of last man standing with JC as initials Carpenter is the man to me.
But I agree with you.

There are a bunch of things wrong with this:
1) Cameron directed Piranha 2 back in the day.
2) Piranha 3D was intentionally created to be in 3D. He should be complaining about the 2D movies rushed into 3D at the last minute instead.
3) The 3D in Piranha 3D was pretty good considering the type of film. Cameron bagging on a film with 1/10th of the budget of his is like the jock picking on the blind fat kid during gym class.
4) Cameron doesn't seem to understand that Piranha 3D was made for a specific type of audience and not "general" moviegoers who would see Avatar on day one.
...Also, isn't it kinda weird to condemn Piranha 3D since My Bloody Valentine 3D basically brought 3D back to the mainstream? They were both exploitative horror films shot with 3D technology. If anything, take the battle to producers who take a 2D movie and charge a premium price by adding 3D right before release.

Hope he has a seperate room for how big his ego is lately. -snorts-
Honestly I haven't seen either film. BUT I have Avatar on blu-ray.. and just have yet to want to really watch it. Piranha 3D on the other hand, I would have loved to see. BECAUSE it reminds me of those awesomely cheesy horror movies I loved back in the day. Besides who doesn't want to see a 3D penis! Ok no need to answer that last bit.
Listen to them, the children of the night. What sweet music they make.
