most people are probably not gonna give this movie a shot because of its PG-13 and it being co-written or whatever by M Night Shamalamading dong BUT I have to say it is a good movie. Is it slow? Yes. But its not "oh my god M Night Shamalamadingdong" slow. If you haven't already guessed its about 5 strangers who get caught in an elevator and long story short one of them is The Devil (or are they?), we as the audience just dont know which one (and dont nobody be a jackass and spoil it).
Its cool to see these 5 people slowly breaking down and starting loosing there minds, cuz they don't trust each other. Almost everytime the power comes out someone dies a violent death. Theres people on the outside of the elevator trying to get through to them and learning more and more about the people in the elevator as the movie goes on. Learning that maybe someone caused the accident on purpose, but why would they? And none of them are as innocent as they seem.
This is deffinatly one of your "psychological" type horror flicks. And the PG-13 rating doesn't hurt it. Yes theres a lot of deaths that you see after the fact, but in this movie it works. I don't wanna really spoil any of them but the way the film reacts to what happen kinda gives you the chills. A lot of people on this board probably aren't going to like this movie. I'd be suprised if they did. But I liked it. And if your one of those people whose horror movies have to be rated R to be good then stay away. But I never have and never will believe that. And if you feel the way I do, then check this movie out. I actually enjoyed it, which to be honest was a suprise to me. I know I didn't tell you much, but this is one of those movies where talking to much about it is really really gonna spoil things. Just trust me and watch a good flick if your into the psychological types.
