I agree. "Corpses" was quite good...but Devil's Rejects seemed to be just trying to ride on the coattails of the previous movie. Give me some scares -- not just torture.
But I will see the Lords of Salem does sound intriguing and I do like his dirty, gritty style. There was rumor he was going to do a real sequel to "Corpses", but nothing came of that.

I find this hard to believe and will see it to judge for myself, but this review is quite positive from a site (LOVE, Arrow In The Head) that is one of the best for horror movie reviews (Ehem...other than UHM of course).
Early review:
While I doubt this could ever be embraced by the mainstream to the relative degree his other films have been- a cult following seems a given. If you're into some weird shit- LORDS OF SALEM is not one you can afford to miss.

still cautiously optimistic. I'll wait for more review until I decided on seeing it in theaters or not.

Personally I feel a good witch movie should have a fair quota of weird shit in it due to the subject matter. As for that poster in the above it is pretty spot on in how I would want to see a movie like this. Not being in the style of the usual Zombie thing is pretty sweet as it means he is not afraid to try something new.

Not sure about this one. I'll see it, but I hated the Halloween remake (the decayed mask looked great though) and didn't bother to see his sequel. Loved Dr. Satan and his lair in House of 1000 Corpses, but the editing of that movie was a mess. Disappointed we'll never get a director's cut. My favorite thing about Rejects was Tiny.
You can tell Rob Zombie really loves horror movies though. I love hearing him talk about them, and I'd like to see more original films from him. He should stay clear of remakes.
