There is no way I am spending money to see this in the theater. On the bright side it looks like he moved on from a horse to a lamb

The last two posters are not as terrible as the first one DM posted (still not very creative though), I must agree with him he looks like he's from some shitty metal band.

I think the posters look like shit, but the stills look interesting. It for sure doesn't look like anything he has done previously, so that's what intrigues me. I'm 50/50 on it currently.

His remake was shit! All his movies are shit! This sounds like it is torrent material during a winter snow storm at best!

There are acouple of reviews over at bloody-disgusting. From what they've said, visually, it's brilliant. The mood, and atmosphere is also excellent. The real problems start with sheri, who is literally in every scene doing something boring. Also, the ending is a major letdown as well. The 'flashbacks' are apparently the best parts. To me, it sounds like Rob doing exactly what he wants to do, and not caring what others think. Which is fine with me. You should make art for yourself first, and foremost. Of course I will go see this, and decide for myself. I've enjoyed his films so far, and yes, H2 was -okay-, not much else. It's always kind of amusing how much of a brown tornado Rob's films cause.

I think he kinda brought that on himself for making shit to mediocre movies. But that's just me

Controversy or love/hate rarely follows the mediocre filmmaker. If they're polarizing, they're doing at least one thing right. I dig most of his flicks so far, some more than others, which puts him in the same category of respect for me as any of them. Remember, we pretty much, in popular culture, only know the names of the good films of Alfred Hitchcock. They all make the occasional stinker or two, or ten (and I don't even consider H2 a stinker).

RZ isn't really a bad director in actual fact, where he bottoms out is his writing. He needs to stop writing scripts. His writing is trash.

For the most part of Rob Zombie's filmmaking career, so far I think he has been a terrible writer and a mediocre director. The exception is 'The Devil's Rejects' where he was a mediocre writer and a good director. There is some fine narrative writing in TDR but some of the dialogue is just atrocious. Overall, it's his most solid film and the only one of his filmography that I like.

I am looking forward to 'The Lords of Salem' though. I'm interested to see RZ going back to purely original material and to see if he can pick up where he left off with 'The Devil's Rejects' with another quality movie.

I partially agree with this. I agree that he is a terrible writer and I think he is slightly below mediocre at directing. He seems confused to be honest. One scene you have a great angle with some truly breathtaking visuals but it is completely wiped away by quick cuts and rock video-style edits.

If a movie is written like shit no director can save it so he is dooming himself from jump. Then throw in his not so sure how to film this garbage antics behind the camera and you get a Rob Zombie film.
