I don't know how you guys feel about this entry in the franchise, but I think it comes ahead of the rest of them.
Though the film is very unique in it's own way, it did make a big mistake...which is making Jason into a frankenstein, machete tauting maniac, which begin the trend of resurrecting jason in different ways: Lightning, psychic powers, high tech machinery, switching into different bodies by making them swallow his demon and being awakened out of his sleep by an asshole named freddy.
But on to the movie itself is very humorous and doesn't take itself to serious. I thought it was fun and the death scenes are cool and creative: Tossing a man 20 feet over his head after being impaled by a pole, impaling a women in the head and sinking it in mud, twisting a counselors head off, beating a woman and tossing her out the window, binding someone in half, tossing a man into a try, while his arm is still in his hands. and, my favorite death scenes, impaling a girls head through a mobile home and the three headed decapitation. Yes those are very witty and creative death scenes.
In this film, we also get to see a new and stronger Jason, which is why the death scenes are so good. The film also looked good as well, I liked the atmosphere and setting, from the lightning to the cinematography, to the use of the smoke. The characters are always aggravating, one or two might be interesting, but they are all aggravating in some aspect, which it really doesn't matter because they're just in here to die anyway. I think the little girl had pissed my off the most, I just wanted the little bitch to go to sleep and to stop aggravating the hell out of the counselors, who didn't believe one word she was saying when she told them she saw Jason walking with a dead girl's body on his shoulders.
So I actually enjoyed this humorous little film and I'm glad it didn't take itself too seriously. I say it comes ahead of the rest because it's fun and gory, and creative. If you are a horror noob and you haven't seen this yet, check it out. 8/10
