The 6th main entry in the GH franchise has been officially announced



The game will be narrated by Gene Simmons and feature a more indepth Story mode focusing on "saving rock" and transforming your characters into monsters of some sort.

As a fan of the series (though I prefer Rockband) I don't really like the idea of transforming into monsters or battling some evil entity...I prefer to rock out to kickass and fun music. The series has grown stale since World Tour but its always fun in a group and it sounds like they are using this story mode thing to breath new life into the series.

I do like the story line as in the first three. It sort of went by a story line at least. I miss the "Are you SURE YOU WANT TO PLAY THIS SONG for freebird in the 2nd installment, and battling Satan in the third installment. Gave us something to look forward to. Now, the games are just there. I'm very interested in seeing what they are going with this. Guitar Hero 5 was fucking horrendous

I think GH5 had the best gameplay as well as best graphics, but the WORST setlist of any rhythm game...that was its biggest downfall IMO

I honestly haven't played Guitar Hero in a long time, kinda moved on to Rockband, but if the track list for this one continues to be this good, i may just have to pick this one up.

That's what I meant. The gameplay was pretty awesome and the graphics were wicked, but when I was "on the road to ozzfest" and played like 2 or 3 spanish songs, I was like uhh..Such a terrible setlist. That's why I always preferred rock band, but this is a pretty badass set list so far.

guitar hero = atrocious... if i was gonna have a rhythm game, it'd be rock band...they know how to apply dlc, thats why they dont lose the type of sales the GH series has as of late. in fact...my gamestop has rock band 2 bundle for like 60 bucks

if you're looking to get into the music games rev let me make a couple suggestions. Make sure you get a new copy of rb2 because youre gonna want the export code on the manual for when rb3 comes out later this year. Also at the same time pick yourself up a used copy of RB1 since you dont need an export code...you just pay for the export license, then RETURN RB1 after you export the songs cuz you dont need the disk anymore, you just got all the songs off of it (well you lose a couple songs).

Since you are a multi-console house I strongly suggest that you get the 360 version...nothing to do with graphics or sound but there are 2 big positives to the 360, 1 the vocals work better as the PS3 suffers from the dreaded "Shaky arrow" glitch making vocals a lot more difficult. also 360 is the only console with the full RB Network, thats an additional 300-400 songs right now and more growing just about every day.

Remember when you'd watch movies or tvshows and see like some ridiculous expensive guitar in the back ground like a Gibson les paul with gold pick ups and shit..And think "That bitch don't know how to play that"..now you see different guitar hero/rock band guitars in the back drop..thinking "Poseur"..

There isnt a person on the planet that plays guitar hero and considers themselves a musician while doing so...they consider themselves gamers.

Anyway I'll throw it out there that Rock Band 3 will offer the option to use a real guitar to play the actual songs when it comes out...people will still play with their plastic ones.

i am a real musician and i fucking love this game. i started playing guitar when i was 8 and i am 26 now, so i could basically play anything on this game in real life but i enjoy it cause its fun. i have owned almost every GH game and still play them all the time. and i agree who cares if you can play guitar in real life its a game, just cause i play GTA4 doesnt mean i go steal cars, just because you play red dead redemption doesnt mean your a cowboy lol. so yeah other musicians need to chill out about this shit, its a game and its fun and like i said that is coming from a musician.
