It's horror for highschool teeny boppers. They see a person standing in the door and they FLIP out. "OH MY GAWD DID YOU SEE THE PART WHERE THE BABY FLIPPED UP?! IT WAS LYKE SO A GHOST TRYING TO KILL THE BABY, AND I SCREAMED NO! CAUSE I FELT BAD FOR THE BABY111!"

It's called CGI you dumb bitch and if they are trying to go this whole "genuine" route, then don't add CGI to the fucking trailer. You can make it look as real as you want.

I fucking HATE Paranormal Activity, but I will watch it only if I can watch it for free, and not filled with teenagers in the theater.

Me too. I refused to watch the first one until it was forced upon me. I'm sure I'll end up watching this one because some one will rent it. Because there is NO WAY I'd pay for it. And going to a theater, no. Screaming teenagers is not a good time for me.

It's taken me a solid 3 years to reprogram myself to stop being so awfully critical of the genre, and just enjoy a movie for what it is.
Crucify me if you desire, but I enjoyed Paranormal Activity for what is was. And what was it you ask?
To me, it was an interesting look into what people in our digital age would do. We document the dumbest stuff on video, so does it not stand to reason that the character of Micah would want to do the same? Tell me honestly that if YOU had similar stuff happening to you, that you would NOT try to get anything on camera to sell to the highest bidder?!? If anything, he's a perfect representation of "most 20 something men" today..."no one comes into MY house and messes with MY girlfriend..." Meanwhile inside he's packing his jocks!
It did NOT scare me. It did NOT make me jump, nor did it do anywhere near the emotional damage shown in the Live Audience Trailers.
For what it was, I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the sequel, even though my instinct tells me that this will ruin my enjoyment of the first film.

Awfully critical? To me, loving a genre doesn't mean loving every movie that belongs to it. I won't appreciate everything because it's labelled "horror movie". I'm not the kind of person that needs to buy a personnality and personnal taste and loves absolutely everything.

AGREED...I tend to give a lot of movies a chance knowing I probably won't like it.. I do it mainly becasue I liked to be shocked...and be able too say wow that was surprisingly a decent movie. This one though. I would never pay to see it. The only thing that got me through the first one, and I know it is going to sound childish, but it was the chicks rack. I love "ghost films" but this one was just to...slow and far from eerie. Very shocked to see there will be a second one.

But this is just my opinion the movie is obviously doing something right to attract the crowd and fans that it has. It is easy to judge but someone is making the movie and getting paid to do so and I am just judging in it a forum. So my hats off to him for that aspect of things.

Not gonna bother. I didn't even plan to watch the 1st, but friends eventually convinced me saying that i'll like it and that it will creep me out. They were wrong. I got mad for wasting my time and money.
