    Suspiria

Yes, I've seen the film, but I just wanted to know, what is all this hype centered around the gore aspect on the film. It's not gory at all, IMO.

Classy with some good cinematography yes, but as far as the gore goes, it kinda let me down.

If there is any gore, could I possibly see some scenes or anythin like that.

Several reasons this movie is so renowned Prince, is that it was the last movie filmed in Technicolor, the use of lighting and music in conjunction are manipulated to bring about a heightened tension, and although the gore is not your over the top splatter fest, it does contain several gore elements (presented in the images below, possible spoilers for those that haven't seen it. If you are looking for some serious gore, I suggest watching Mother of Tears: The Third Mother, the third installment in the series.

It was really gory for the time period in which it was released, naturally you wouldn't know that Prince

The film is beautifully shot, atmospheric, and fantastic to look at. It is highly regarded by John Carpenter as a work of art. Not surprised that you or Chief have no appreciation for it, maybe if you watched it on Ritalin, there would be a greater appreciation.

I never really saw it hyped from a gore point of view. I always heard it talked about from a cinematography/music point of view which is where it really shines.

I think this movie was one of the most beautiful horror films ever made, the camera work, the sets, the colors, the score...everything was very artful and magnificent. Much like Inferno this movie is more about the visuals and suspense than plot or scares.

I never really heard of the movie being regarded for its gore, not sure where you got that hype from

If you some of you dorks would have read the post, you would have seen that I said the movie is good with it's cinematography. I just expected more from a gore point of view.

Yes I do appreciate this film, it brings something new to the horror genre that most films have fail hard at doing, creating something new and vibrant. I actually enjoyed, just expected gore, not images of gore. The mother of tears did have some decent gore, but sucked huge balls.

My favorite Argento film, even though it's a short, has to be pelts. Fucking awesome.

steelba i don't know what it is lately...but i have been agreeing with you! The fact it was a beautiful piece of art(lighting, camera work and angles, atmosphere, COLORS) which also contained a good storyline and GORE. Which if you have watched any of his films you notice he use a very "faux red" for his blood. To have all this in one movie is very rare. You may have on of these aspects but fall short on another aspect. To me everything came together nicely on this film!

I always saw this one as a finesse, artsy film.. it's beautiful.. the lighting, the music.. it's ridiculous how stylish everything looks in this movie...

one part you see the girls exposed heart get stabbed.. the hanging scene is one of my favorite... a dude gets his throat ripped out by dog... pretty cool...

I just think it's a great atmospheric film... and to be honest, i actually really like Inferno because of the music/operatic type sets...

Mother of Tears was a treat for me because I really dig Asia Argento and it was so gory... udo kier dies well

Demons is an argento flick for those who want their gore and cinematography.. even though he only produced it... it was more his film than bava's...

Additionally, I think The Church is an underrated film by argento/bava

And the maggot part always gets me in this movie. I have Entomophobia (fear of bugs) and I can't do that. Maggots especially. That's what I love about this movie though ironically. Makes that scene truly horrific.
