There were things I really liked and things I didn't like
Things I liked:
Spoiler...
-Brann becoming king makes sense and that, in my mind, was totally satisfying. I have no qualms with him ruling the six kingdoms. It also gave a good reason why he went through so much shit in the series. Hodor and friends sacrificing themselves for Brann wasn't in vain.
-I like where Sansa, Arya and most of the other cast ended up. That all felt like great conclusions to their characters in my opinion.
-The cinematography was once again spot on in this episode. Everything looked gorgeous.
-Dany never got to sit on the throne.
-I like the make-shift counsel and how no one knows what the hell they were doing. It was fun, but Bronn was annoying. Drogon fucking off could be very important, and he basically cut Sam off and said, 'WELL HE'S FAR AWAY SO FUCK IT'.
-Arya sailing to the unknown was pretty fucking badass.
-All the houses coming together to basically elect a new king was very cool.
Things I did not like:
Spoiler...
-Seriously, some of these scenes went on for way too long. I didn't mind the intro scene where Tyrion is walking through King's Landing or the scene where Dany is talking to the Unsullied/Dothraki. I think those were needed, but that scene with Jon Snow and Tyrion in that room? Holy shit, that could have been brought down to like 5 minutes max. I felt like they spent time on too much BS when I wanted more clarification on where some other characters ended up. It was just thrown in there.
-Jon Snow being banished was horse shit. His character basically did nothing this season and I just don't like where he ended up. But, he did get to pet that damn dog, so good for him. I just wish it was in better circumstances. I know he loved being in the North, but I don't know, it's hard to explain. Didn't feel good to me and left a bad taste in my mouth. I really felt like he got the shit end of the stick.
-Dany dying had no weight. It was so expected that the scene felt like a drag. Drogon is a fucking insane dragon and him burning the iron throne was pretty cool though. Other than that, it was just another scene that went on for too long. She should have died episodes ago.
Overall, it didn't feel like a series finale to me. It would have sufficed as a season finale, but eh. I think Cersei/Jaimie dying last week was a pretty horrible end for them and was half expecting some more to come of that. This episode was good, but way too much filler. On the flip side, it's hard to picture an ending to Game of Thrones and I'll actually stick up for the writers (for this episode only) that they did the best they could. They really fucked this season up, but I did not mind this episode as much. Like I said though, it didn't feel like a series finale, but I also was not totally disappointed.
