I love the original British show. Although I've lost track of it and I'm way behind so I'll have to try to catch up sometime. I still have yet to check out this American version.

The british version is pretty full on and is very familiar to urban manchester,very rough and crime ridden. I have noticed the american version is very tame in comparison..although it is pretty good

I'm originally from South East London but having spoken to Mancs about 'Shameless' they say the show is very accurate in its portrayal of urban Manchester. I'm not surprised the American version is watered down.Originally Posted by monkfish

I am completely up-to-date on Shameless US... I dig the hell out this show.
I watched the first ep of Shameless UK earlier, and both versions are almost completely identical.. same level of raunchy humor.. In this instance, I don't believe the US version is "watered-down", in fact, I think the US version actually showed a bit more Fiona's boobs in the first ep than the Brit version did... Even the dialogue was virtually the same, except for some differences in slang.... and Liam and V are both white in the UK version
