Talking about a film that creeps the hell out of me, this has to be one of my favs.
The movie offers a lot: Genuine chills, suspense, a badass creature/demon/monster, which ever you prefer, and at times it was terrifying.
The only reason I can think of anyone not liking this film is because of the ending, which was good/bad, shocking but disappointing. Though the second half of the film goes into cliche territory, it still manages to be entertaining. The atmosphere of the film is what I like most, it's something like what Alexandre Aja did with High Tension, it had that feeling of dread and despair, and was very dark. The creature was a another good aspect of the film, except for when you see the close up shot of the contacts in his eyes, but it creeps the hell out of me every time it comes on screen.
The performances given by the actors are good and the characters are interesting, especially the psychic lady. The film isn't too violent, which makes it even better. I wish the guys who are behind all of these "remakes" would watch this film to see how a horror film is actually supposed to be done.
Yes this is one of my favorite horror films, because it isn't based off of another film and spews originality and gives us a chill, an actually chill.
The second wasn't that bad. It just replaces the scares for action and it was paste staking but still kept me interested because of
all the tension that was going on with the characters on the bus.
The only problem I have with the film is about the creature himself and where does he come from, which we receive no answer in both films.
As soon as the molester director Victor Salva can get his shit straight, then we can get part 3. If not, I would have Aja direct this any day.
7/10 for both of them
Do you guys like these films as much as I do.
