I agree with most that, as a kid, The Exorcist freaked me out. So much so that I still get a little creeped. "It" got me too but more so the scene when Bev goes back to her old house and talks with the old woman. Totally gets me even now. Anyone remember a made for TV Disney movie called, "Mr. Boogedy"? That shit had me cowering under some covers. Also, the last story in Creepshow with the insects. I haven't watched it since I was little and probably will never watch it again. Bugs are my poison.

As an adult, this doesn't happen much anymore.

No scare in Descent scared me, but since I am claustraphobic the scene when she is getting stuck in the tunnel freaked me out.

I'll admit, but have admitted before that i'm Ophidiophobia (Fear of Snakes). So snakes make me uncomfortable.

Bugs really fuck me in real life. I can't even do flies, lady bugs, ect. I start sweating and my heartbeat goes crazy. So, when I watched Suspiria when the maggots fall from the ceiling I basically shit my pants. Even Creepshow with all the roaches. I get goosebumps and constantly think they will crawl on me, even though I've had no past of roaches lol.

Things that have scared me in the past:
Pet Semetary: the scene where Gage's hand comes out from under the bed and slices the old man's achilles(sp?) tendon. Freaked me out for weeks. Still can't watch that scene.
A Nightmare on Elm Street: Just the idea of Freddy. The first time I watched the film, I went upstairs shakily, and just felt very uneasy in my own room. It's now one of my favorite films, but the first time I watched it, damn.
Chucky: I'm not sure which film it was - I caught this scene while flipping through the channels one night as a kid (who still slept with dolls in her bed). I saw feet descending a flight of stairs, and Chucky was at the bottom, revving a chainsaw. I nearly pissed myself.
Anaconda: I saw a preview for it and that was it.

    Now -
I am still afraid of snakes. I always have been, even before I saw the preview for Anaconda. Chucky still kinda freaks me out a little, I think it's just left-over childhood trauma more than anything. Movies today do not have much of an affect on me. They rely way too much on gore and not enough on story or character development, as another poster mentioned. I find it scarier when you actually give a damn about the characters who are up for slaughter. I also find it scarier when the situation seems realistic. I haven't been scared of a film since I was thirteen, and it's a little sad to me how desensitized I've become.

Chucky was terrible for me when I was a child too. My uncle had a Chucky doll and my sister and cousins locked me in the closet with it.

The only movie that ever really freaked me out was the scene in seven. Where they are reading from his notebook about how he threw up on a guy on the subway because he tried to make small talk. I just find that mentality creepy.

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.
