David Slade does Dracula

David Slade is supposedly set to direct The Last Voyage of the Demeter. The voyage from Dracula's home in Transylvania to England. I thought 30 Days of Night was the best vampire movie to come out in a very long time, so I'm happy with him doing this. I for one think Dracula has been done to death, but I think this is a rather fresh version of a Dracula storyline. Maybe this has been done before but I dont remeber it, please point me to any flicks if im wrong here. I look forward to it.

I agree with both of the above sentiments. His vampires in 30 Days of Night were monsters and nothing to romanticise about. There was no mercy with them, just feed the craving. This Dracula should be decent, but the proof is in the pudding!

It's not like he wrote the book, just directed the movie. He had nothing to do with how gay the Twilight vampires are.

Not sure why I read "David Spade" when I first read the thread title. That said, Wickednik is sort of right. Cannot really blame David for Twilight. It was glitter-gay from the word go so he really didn't have much room to work with. I doubt he has the ability to do a serious vampire film justice, but I have been surprised by subpar directors before, so who knows.
