Revenge on Nazis film.

Ok, I do not remember how the movie starts or anything in that matter.

Obviously it is set during WWII, possibly in French country side at an old castle. The Nazis are stationed in there.

A father (bearded) goes in there to exact revenge on the rape/murder of his daughter, I believe.

One scene has soldiers running down an underground passage way to fall into a pit off water. The avenger closes and locks a gate on top of them and they drown.

The second scene that I remember is of the top officer peering into mirror. The mirror is slow discolouring then flames shoot through to engulf him. The avenger was in a hidden room behind the mirror with a flamethrower.

Could also be a scene of soldier getting throat cut with bayenette or knife?

I think at the end you see the avenger walking away from the castle then movie finishes. I thought maybe The Keep but that is the supernatural based WWII Nazi film I think?

Yeah I thought the Keep as well, some of it resembles the keep. As there is a girl that is nearly raped, and a vengeful father. No mirrors or flamethrowers though.

It is weird as the two scenes I mention are really clear in my head.

Any idea of when it came out ? There's plenty of Nazisploitation out there, but nothing is coming to mind with a plot similar to the one you've mentioned

The description sounds really promising. I am sure he has a beard though. But still this really sounds like it.

If you have seen it is there the flamethrower scene where he gets the commander?

Don't remember sorry. Only seen this movie once. It's considered as a classic of the French cinema of the XXth century.

The main character has dark beard and hair. Solid build. Wears a JUmper either dark brown or blue, like farmer's clothing I guess. Kinda solid build like worker.

Beard or not, I don't think that leaves much room for doubt....
