I didn't really listen to too many new releases this year, and the ones I did, didn't really stand out too much for me. Though, there are quite a few albums that were released this year from bands/artists I like, but haven't gotten around to listening to, so I still need to do that.

However, I'll say that my favorite "discovery" of 2018 was Forest of Fog. Most of his work comes from the early to mid 2000s, but I just started listening to his music this year and have been a big fan of it. A shame that the single he released after leaving Eluveitie was quite a deviation from his black metal he made before joining Eluveitie. But yeah, his work with Forest of Fog is probably my favorite "discovery" of 2018.
