So, seeing as a large part of this forum listens to a lot of hard rock/metal I thought I'd make a topic of it. Posting videos and recommending some great metal albums. Listing your favorites and just overall discussion. Since this is the first topic I'll post some metal songs you guys might not know about and maybe you'll go out and buy the albums in support of the bands. My goal is just to get people who aren't really familiar with this genre to maybe get into it a little more?

I'll start this off with Amon Amarth covering System of a Down's "Aerials" on their new album..

What did you think of Austrian Death Machine's second album Strt? I was kind of disappointed besides the T2 Theme.

Poeple don't need me to know or discover Metallica. I've listed great pagan or black metal bands (plus lex Talionis which is pretty strange by moments I've listed european bands for we are better when it comes to black metal or pagan metal.

Only band I've heard out of that list is Grave Digger. I think they made the song Last Supper? I'll check into the others

Yeah they did this record but you'd better check their records from the 90's. Running Wild is a german heavy metal band and the band has been dealing with piracy for years and years way long before others began to do it.

The other bands are really awesome and worth a check. Better give a try to the first recordings buddy except for Summoning whose first album was ok but had some drums probs. The following albums are way better and will lead you in the lands of Middle Earth.

Besides Dir En Grey above. Here are some other metal bands part of the Visual Kei movement in Japan!

My two cents:

-Nocturnal Rites => love their second album a lot, great sing along record
-Blackguard => haven't listen to this band so far
-Evergrey => heard a few songs and it was ok
-Dimmu Borgir => old stuff rules, has been playing shitty stuff over the last decade, what a pity such skilled and talented musicians play such a bad music
-Arch Enemy => a few decent songs but overrated
-Symphony X => skilled musicians, a friend made me listen to some songs and it sounded good
-Rotting christ => cult greek band
-Cradle of Filth => old stuff rules but has been playing shitty music for more than 10 years now
-Soilwork => great band
-Emperor => my fave band
-Alestorm => heard one song or two, sounded ok but I'd rather listen to Running Wild
-Lacuna Coil => not my cup of tea even though the singer is hot
-Sonata Arctica => don't really like

I hate visual kei, nothing more to say about it.

Sigh is a cult band and here in Europe the band can claim having its followers.
