The part in the trailer where that gun or whatever it is from the first Alien is coming up from the floor, the Space Jockey is walking towards it from the right. It looks too human to me, BUT it has to be a SJ because we know how large that gun thing is from the first Alien. So scale wise, if it was a human he'd have to be far smaller.

Anyone just a little bit troubled that Jon Spaihts co-wrote this? This is the same guy who wrote The Darkest Hour.

Being one-dimensional doesn’t hurt, either, even if that particular character flaw can be safely blamed on whoever is responsible for the screenplay — in this case, Jon Spaihts. Given that he is also one of two writers credited on Ridley Scott’s much anticipated 2012 film (and possible “Alien” prequel) “Prometheus,” it is to be hoped that his lazy ideas were not equally apportioned between the two projects.

Even a good writer is capable of a bad story. Plus most studio pictures go through dozens of uncredited writers before someone tacks together other people's work and changes enough dialogue to get the wga credit. Don't let a screenwriting credit turn you away .

Since this film is meant to elaborate on the origin of the Alien and Space Jockey I wonder if it will use the idea of a temple and space jockey sacrifices.

These pics are from the book Alien:Vault, which I suggest anyone here to read. Originally Dan O'bannon had written scenes for the first film that revealed a huge temple where jockeys where suppose to do some kind of animal sacrifice to create the xenomorphs. Concept art was made, but time and budget nixed these ideas.
