I myself enjoyed it because I love slashers. Wasn't a great movie but it's the fourth movie in the series so no shit. I don't need deep character development and a surprise ending that no one ever saw coming or some deep emotional meaning behind the movie. I wanted a slasher and this is a slasher.

I don't need a film to meet any of those criteria either NiK to enjoy a slasher but I do need a film to not be unremittingly shit. Which this was.

By your definition any quintessential genre film is worthy. I mean, Speed 2 was an action film that had many action sequences. It doesn't make it any less shit though.

To each their own. I miss slashers so I embrace almost all of them that come out.
Most slashers are absurd. I mean really because someone in a mask comes back 8 times and never dies, always chasing the same victim?

and I would like to touch on why they selected Jill as the killer. Me, myself, what I got from it was that Kevin/Wes were implying that Kids now days will do anything for their 15 minutes of fame. Jill wanted to become Sidney because of the spotlight she was in
