Also known as Haunters, this is a pretty sweet Korean flick that I would probably rank as one of the best Psychic-themed films I've seen. Written by Min-suk Kim, who also scripted The Good, The Bad, The Weird, this marks Kim's directorial debut and an impressive one at that.
What I really liked about the movie was it's great use of the psychic powers the man holds. There are several scenes where he controls dozens of people at once, using them as his own personal army. I also liked how we're never really explained why the one guy can't be controlled by the Psychic. We can assume that he is also psychic, and that he's just unaware of his powers, but we're never given a straight answer. That makes for a more interesting movie, in my opinion, because our hero is forced to use his wits to battle the Psychic, so it's not necessarily a matter of Psychic vs Psychic. The story follows man who is born with the supernatural gift to control anyone he sees. He goes through life alone using this ability, stealing from money lenders and banks. Eventually he attempts to steal from a lender, who had just recently hired a new employee. An employee who is somehow able to combat the man's mind control. From this point on the two men are linked and battle each other throughout the rest of the flick.
The movie had me glued from the start and although I felt the ending to be a bit on the iffy side, it was still a great film overall. Highly recommended, especially if you're into flicks involving psychics.
