They started out as simple dramas with bits of action and car chases/racing and the series has essentially turned into mindless action films with superhero-esque characters. As dumb as the movies are, they're fun popcorn flicks.

I think its funny how people constantly bitch about "big budget mindless summer blockbusters" and then praise the hell out of this. Not to sound like one of those though, cuz hell I can't wait to watch it. Probably see it today.

I hated these when I was younger. I was never into cars in the slightest and just viewed them as another sports movie. The first one was decent and I couldn't tell you a thing about the sequel. Funny enough, the third is what got me hooked. I loved Tokyo Drift. I was really hesitant to watch it, but my buddy sat me down and told me to give it a chance. Ever since then, I have been looking forward to each one. I am very glad they are doing away with the main focus on cars though. After a while it got a little ridiculous and kind of boring. Not saying they aren't ridiculous now (having a man and woman get launched into the air and having a vehicle break their fall), but I find that they don't take themselves as seriously as they did in the previous, car fueled, installments.

I too enjoy fun mindless popcorn flicks such as these. I've been watching the series from the start, even caught the first in the theaters Worst has gotta be the second though, it was just ridiculous in so many aspects

movie was unnecessary, ridiculous, dumn and over the top. Not to mention fun, very very fun. I enjoyed the hell out of it. The ending scene everyone was talking about was 10 times cooler than I expected. Can't wait for the next one. I had no idea Gina Carano was even in this. She has improved a lot on the screen since Haywire. Her fight scene with Michelle Rodriguez was very nice.

Fun movie. I think I enjoyed 5 a bit more, but this was still pretty entertaining. Though I don't like how they're essentially becoming superhero now, with all the throwing people around and leaping around

Would like to see the return of the Lucas Black character from Tokyo drift in the next installment

I couldn't find a thread for the next installment, however Kurt Russell has been added to the cast! This is like a mini-Expendables!
