    Smile The Ginger Snaps Trilogy

Apparently by my avatar, I absolutely love these films.

The first one, in my opinion was genius. How they linked the transformation of turning into a werewolf and the changes of entering womanhood was clever. The scene where they ask the nurse in the school questions always has me in stitches because it does sound innocent enough. The dark humor in it was great and the acting was done well. The only problem I had with the film was the end result of what the werewolf looked like which was rather cheesy as well as the "tail" thing. Over all though, I related to both sisters.

The second one was not nearly as good, but I enjoyed it. I really love Emily Perkins, who plays Brigitte. (Couldn't believe it was the same girl who played Beverly in "IT" and she looks so young for her age. When I found out how much older she was then Katharine Isabelle who plays Ginger, I was amazed.) so it was nice to see more of her. I did miss Ginger though. The ending kind of pissed me off.

The third, I have to be honest I didn't really care for at all. If I liked anything it was the set designs and costumes.

What did all of you think of these films? Personally, the first one is one of my top favorite horror films of all time.

Horrible films, PMS werewolves are a mutha F'n joke.

Dog Soldiers, The Howling, Silver Bullet, those are werewolf films, these are garbage.

I really enjoyed the first film as well. I don't think people give it as much credit as it should get. As for the other films ..they were nothing special.

What credit, the FX were horrible, and the script was piss poor. Those films get far too much credit

First flick is great -- entertaining, funny, some decent practical effects and of course that hottie Katharine Isabelle

The sequels were okay, decent watches, but something you'd only watch once.

Love the first one, very clever and a great watch. The second was ok, on par with most werewolf sequels and I've never seen the third

I felt the first one was pretty decent. But in saying this I do prefer the movies Steelba mentioned.

First one is good. Second one exists as a whole'nother entity. It's awesome in its own way. It's funny as hell, maybe my favorite horror-comedy.

I might try giving the third one another watch but I just couldn't stay engaged with the storytelling when I tried to watch it before.

The first one has one of the most amazing opening title sequences ever put to film.

I loved the first, but the other two I could do without. I don't even think I've watched all of the 3rd.

Yeah, they actually got the look of the wolf right by the third one. Too bad the 3rd one wasn't very good. Pretty much the first knocked them all out of the water. The second was tolerable. I just liked seeing more of Emily because I enjoy her work. The third...Eh. They should have stopped. At least in my opinion. Interesting to hear everyone's views on the films though.

I like the first. Can't remember the second too well. Never saw the third.

Favorite werewolf films: The Howling and An American Werewolf in London.

I also like Wolf a lot because of Jack Nicholson. The rest of the cast is good too: Christopher Plummer, Michelle Pfeiffer, and James Spader. I didn't like Silver Bullet. I want to rewatch it though. Dog Soldiers was pretty good, but I didn't like the twist at the end, largely due to the transforming CGI shot.

One of my favorite series (trilogies) I especially like the third film, GINGER SNAPS BACK: THE BEGINNING. I just like the period-setting and its storline.
