I can see that. there has also been some talk that the choice was made to get it by the censors.

There were plenty of times I saw stark white blood in Sin City. But blood, as a thing, was not represented as a white thing, implying that was its natural state in that world. It was simply a choice. Red was a color found in the palette of Sin City and, in fact, there's really no reason to think blood, as a fact, is any color but red in the "universe" of Sin City as it relates to our world but it isn't always presented as red, as an image with its own context, or a picture intended to have some kind of factual value.

I also heard about this on the Boogeymen DVD. I'd been looking for it for a while. It's now on the Netflix instand queue for those who are interested. I'll probably watch it soon, now that I know it's available.

Seems weird but I know that works over here in the US. You can show all kinds of gore on primetime television if you're killing aliens or demons or something like that, something non-human with blood any color but red. Like it makes a difference.
