i love sharks so ill watch anything with sharks in it but with every shark movie ive seen excluding JAWS and The Reef i shake my head in disbelief that people can produce such crap and then call it a movie. The MOST important thing in a shark movie is to make the Shark realistic. Im so sick of crappy CGI. Not expecting much from the movie but excited there is another shark movie to watch

Just finished this, really not a huge fan of shark movies aside from Jaws cause they usually are SyFy type garbage, still haven't seen Shark Night and based on what I've read I'm sure I probably never will. This one caught my interest due to the premise. I enjoy movies that are placed in mundane areas that we can all relate to like shopping malls, grocery stores and so on.

The positive: The movie is entertaining. I was surprised to see Julian McMahon in it, he did a good job but you could feel he wasn't putting his best foot forward given the type of movie this was. If he delivered the sort of performance he is capable of it really would have shined light on the lack of acting talent in the others, not that they were abysmal.

The negative: I wish that rather than being simply amusing this could have been more of a gem like "Rogue". It suffers from SyFy craptastic cgi effects at times and scenes that were designed solely for 3d viewing and that are painfully tacky when viewed normally.

watched it last night. Amazed me how it had syfy channel shit FX one minute and the next I'm thinking holy crap that looked awesome! It went back and forth from shitty FX to really good ones. Enough to make the rent worth it. I wouldn't buy it but there were some cool scenes in this movie. And I agree I was suprised to see Julian McMahon. This would have been one great movie had they held back on the shitty CGI that was very un-needed.

Apparently the shark was an animatronic one for the most part. I may just rent this out once it is available. As mentioned before watching the preview up on the big screen i wasn't very impressed.
