    "Re-Elect Joe" (48hr film project)

...here's a 48hr film project my brother Tim directed some years back, between our feature projects Xtracurricular and our upcoming Sick Boy. Some of y'all might recognize Katherine Willis (Joe) from the film version of Friday Night Lights and other Texas-based films.

Thanks, Tim works really well under pressure. This short was also produced by Blayne, who was our producer on Sick Boy as well.

Blayne had the crew and everything ready to go for Tim's arrival from the airport to getting their 48hr assignment. Tim was (is) living in LA but we'd rather make our stuff at home in Texas so he was involved with the 48hr film group here in Austin. So he flew to Austin, went to get the assignment, went straight into a story/production meeting and then the next morning they rolled cameras (at this time using Blayne's Panasonic Varicam...Blayne also owned the jib too).

Editing and post production went right up to dropping off their assignment and Tim flying back out to Cali to go back to work. Dunno how he did that, I'd have called in sick and gone straight to bed from the airport, lol.

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

This is really well done, especially for 48 hours. The acting and pacing is really good.

We were all really proud of what they did so fast.

Everyone, pretty much, had very recently worked together so that helps a great deal. Knowing crew, talent, equipment and locations weren't going to be part of the stress recipe it let everyone concentrate on just doing it, skipping passed all the clumsy getting-to-know-you business. Preparedness prior to getting their theme assignment was key.
