yes but when a studio makes a film and gets told that unless they cut certain scenes it will either be given an NC-17 or not be allowed out is passive censorship. Since many big chains wont carry or show it. The film left uncensored wont turn near as much profit. They know this will encourage a censored version being in the places most of the public typically looks. This has gotten better with uncensored DVD but many times people see the censored version and it drives them away from trying the uncensored. I am for a rating system just not for them censoring films when they are supposed to be just rating them.

yes, but a film doesn't have to accept a rating... they can issue their film unrated. It's rare, but it is a true fact to get around a "passive censorship". A dvde truly isn't unrated... only the parts added in aren't. (and they could have been rated, but the film chooses not accept it, and puts it as unrated)

Yes but as I said most studios won't bother with the unrated due to the pressure for major chains to keep things R and under. I just wish the general public was given the option of making their own decision on seeing something that is truly uncensored.

I like the way Dr Heiter just reeked of insanity. A good portrayal of madness. The movie just lost it as it played on..and those two girls, I couldn't stand them. I couldn't wait til their mouths were shut or sewn to something.

I wish it was grosser, sicker and really fuck up. When the dirty deed was done...it was nothing. Maybe this one will be better.... with more filthy sickness.

Australia has excepted it and will show it in their theaters.

I just find it really strange that here A Serbian film was released, fair enough with just over 4 min of cuts but its like available in my local blockbuster!!! makes me wonder whats so different about this film. id heard something about rape with barbed wire but what ive heard about A Serbian film is a lot worse.

As i said in my first post i wasnt a fan of the first Human Centipede, felt like a lot of people have said, it was overhyped and underwhelming and id def seen a lot worse.

I agree with what Primetimeloser said in that im all for certification but surely its up to people to decide whether they want to watch a film or not? i mean i dont want to watch A Serbian film, have no interest in it, but i dont say it should be banned because i dont agree with what ive heard it depicts, its just i dont want to watch it, therefore me making my choice. These bodies such as the BBFC should understand this.

That's why the ass to mouth gimmick probably wont die in this film. How many times has someone watched a horror movie and said "will they just shut up or die already"? In that respect this could have been horror lovers dream.

Saw the first and thought it was ok but like the comments above, not enough of the gore factor to make me watch it again. Britain has always been messed up when coming to censorship but to downright ban a film in this day and age is CRAZY!!! I recommend watching the documentary Video nasties : Moral panic, Censorship & Videotape to see how really fucked up the uk was. Luckily i own the limited edition box set, The definitive guide and i remember those days pretty well even though im only 34. The BBFC have been enemies of mine for many years and to say these films will corrupt minds is ridiculus and insane! There the bloody insane ones and obviously have nothing better to do with there time than keep people from the films they LOVE!!!! Wankers!!! Fuck um anyway ! I love the internet! lol

Agreed. Only reason I watched some of the dumb ass "Cannibal" flicks from decades ago was the fact that they had been banned in multiple countries for distrubing scenes. It was the hype that got me to watch Human Centipede and I had no plans to watch the second phase... but damn it all - UK banned it? Now I want to see it! They f'n caught me again!!!
