I don't know if any of you have seen these films, but you are missing out on something very wonderful.
The first film is about the master of the martial arts, who was once rich, but do to a war, chinese soldiers take over his village and he loses everything he has. To gain it back, he goes up against the colonial and his soldiers.
In the second, he has moved to another city, where he teaches his method of martial arts to others. He begins to learn that there is more to martial arts than fighting, as there are rules in this city, as well as other Masters. He soon begins another fight, this time with the british, english, one of the the two.
If you haven't seen these films, be sure to check them out, as they are good martial arts entertainment, without the use of all that CGI bullshit. I think that what makes the film stand out the most is the fact that it doesn't use CGI in it's fight seens, old school hand to hand combat.
Both films are equally likeable, as the second has more humor than the first. The direction is also beautiful as they make good with the score and the choreography is well staged.
Ip man has to be one of the best martial arts characters in the history of martial arts filmmaking. Supposedly, at least the movie says, he was Bruce Lee's master.
Even though this is based off of a true story, I don't really think much of the stuff that happened in this film actually happened, but yet and still, it's entertainment. 9/10 for both. Might be high but I like them.
Has anyone else seen these films, if so how do you like them. If not, be sure to check them out.
