wow...a full remake and they've expanded it to include Parker's parents...and I thought I saw web "shooters" instead of the organic webbing. In all I think it looks pretty goddamn boring since we just saw a Spidey origin story in 2002.

They remake them to make a profit. Remember 3D is the reason that they are being pushed out even more. And if they aren't doing remakes, they are making "sequels" and "Prequals" to movies that were made damn near 3 decades ago.......

This movie wasnt made 3 decades ago...it was 1 decade ago. I would have no problem if this was a sequel or prequel (well a prequel to the spiderman story would be pretty boring).

The movie is probably going to stink...that has more to do with the directing, acting, production, etc. When the very concept of a movie is absurd like retelling a story that was just told I instantly lose all interest. That's what I think the biggest problem in this movie is.

Just because the last in a variety of sequels is not good doesn't mean you need to start over with the exact same origin story again. (of which the first was very good)

And I really don't care about the motives for making this movie... Perhaps this was motivated by profit... or perhaps the director and writer thought they could do a better job than Raimi and Co. ... let's face it, there's a lot of room for improvement there... but that's all a matter of speculation..

Personally, I'm all for disregarding the Raimi trilogy, as I felt it wasn't all that great... Like what they did with The Hulk... The Ang Lee movie was fucking awful, so they totally disregarded it and started from scratch and made a much better movie. I don't consider The Incredible Hulk a remake of The Hulk because it isn't... Just another version of the same source material... that's it... and that's all this spiderman movie will be...

I'll wait and see what the finished product is like.. if it's good, right on! If it sucks, I won't blindly blame it on being a remake, because that's not what made it suck, poor execution will be the only thing to blame.

And like I said before, I'm personally okay with that if they think they can make a better version than what was produced before... I'd be tickled shitless if they scrapped the POS Transformers movie franchise and started fresh and new next year with a competent Director..

The timeframe between old and new means nothing to me if they give me a superior product than what was offered previously.
