What is your first Horror Movie Memories?

What are you first memories of viewing horror? Just a thought that came to me just now. I am very interested in what other people have to say.

Mine is the sunken boat seen in Jaws. Where Richard Dreyfuss' character dives in to check things out and pretty much shits himself with what he finds. In fact that that seen used to mess with me for years as a child. Also, thanks to Jaws I could not even go into a pool by myself for a long time.

Mine was my dad passed out in the living room with the TV on. In all the excitement of staying up late and getting to watch TV I ended up seeing Maximum Overdrive on MonsterVision. The one part I always remember and still love about that movie is the bit with the little league team.

When i was like five, there was a sticker album about horror movies in my country. My cousin (he was like 10) had one and show it to me. I remember a couple ones (the sticker were stills from the movies) like Nightmare on elm... and Child's Play 2 (When Chucky's head explodes), etc. I really got very interested about horror movies because of that and about a month later I stay up late without anybody knowing and watched Nightmare on tv. I couldn't sleep for a week. I will never forget "the girl on the roof "scene, really shocking. :elstare: And after that I became a fan

My parents wouldn't really let us watch horror stuff growing up. I would see bits here and there but when my sis took me with her for a weekend trip on her friends houseboat it began. The first day I was swimming nonstop being a silly kid having a blast. The second day early on I got stung by several wasps/hornets. They doctored me and had me stay inside to rest for a bit while they did their thing. I got bored pretty quick and started going through the stack of vhs tapes next to their tv. I found one that I thought I probably wouldn't be allowed to watch at home and popped it in. I laid on this little couch and watched Aliens & From Beyond back to back nonstop totally immersed. It was the scariest and greatest shit I had ever seen. Been a huge fan ever since I don't think I've ever told that one before but there it is. For my horror pals.

Same as Splat. Watched Jaws with my dad when I was 5-6, when that head popped into that window I jumped and i'm pretty sure my heart was in my throat.

Still hate the ocean to this day. I've dealt with pretty insane shit the past 4 years, but I go near the ocean and lose it, fuck that. haha

Mom turned me on to horror when I was about 4 or 5..started with NOES ..and I love her for that!! of course the iconic scenes I remember is:

there are plenty others i Remeber as well....

Kevin Bacon - Throat Stab or poke if you will!

Jaws don't get me wrong through and through a great fuckin cult classic..but for some reason that cover art always...always stayed in my head

Maniac..again that is another cover art that stuck with me but the fuckin head shot no one will ever forget!!

Terror Train first of early on Jamie Lee Curtis and this dick always screwed with my head...creepy!

It is bad to start listing because I am leaving plenty out but this is what I have for now...

My mother babysat my cousins, and we watched A nightmare on elm street. Was Luke 4-5, a few months later went to see Part 2 at the theatre... My dads friend was trying to scare me saying "come to Freddy" and he grabbed me... His pitbull decided my 45 pound body was attacking his 200 pound master and decided to take a chunk out of my ear.

Christmas day at my grandads home, watching one Psycho movie after another on VHS with my cousins, it was a crappy TV. The endings to the first two freaked me out.

Watching JC's Vampires with my dad & brother. I felt nauseous at all the blood and gore, haha. Well it seemed like a lot back then.

The Sixth sense had just came out on VHS, we had a family night, it scarred me for life.

I was 8, older siblings let me watch NOES. I got scared, they got grounded, it was awesome (for both reasons). It was the coolest thing i'd ever seen, until 2 years later when I saw Hellraiser. That's when I knew I had so much more to see, and set out to do so

I watched 'I Spit On Your Grave' as a 9 year old. Also stuff like 'Battle Truck', not horror but who cares anyway, and the original Pirahna. maybe this explains things

I remember watching Child's Play. I was terrified of Chucky for many years. It doesn't help that my uncle had a Chucky doll and my cousins locked me in the closet with it. Also Night of the Living Dead, I had to stop watching after Johnny hit his head on the grave stone. I know that's right away in the movie, but I was a puss.

Watching ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS and ROSEMARY'S KILLER with my sister and brothers when I was 7. As cheesy as ZFE is now, the impact of the chick getting the piece of wood through her eye always stays with me, and the shower scene at the end of RK with the guy jumping at the girl and the cop, even though he's dead, always scared the living daylights out of me. RK was called something else in the states, but I can't remember what the fuck it was called!
