I know there is another topic on this, but the last time someone posted in that topic was 2008 and I thought I'd just make a new one

I'm seeing this tonight and since I'm a huge fan of Del Toro's stuff, I think I'm going to dig it. I saw a hint of CGI in there, but I think it's going to be just as great as his other films.

According to imdb this came out in 2010 Does anyone have a reason why that is along with tons of votes and reviews from people who seen it? Also, what did you think of it if you have already seen it?

It was completed in 2010, it was never released. All the reviews have come from people who caught the screenings at film festivals and such.

I'm pretty stoked then..Obviously I don't listen to imdb reviews, but overall it's got a great score. Considering when movies are so-so they get 6 or lower..considering this has over a 7 rating, it might be great.

I'm looking forward to this. I like old TV movies in general including the original, and I like del Toro (I realize he only wrote it, but that's a plus).

This movie was horribly disappointing. It wasn't scary, it was filled with unanswered questions and the "monsters" were a fucking joke. No spoiler there since it's established early on in the film. The ending was awful as well. Overall..I'd prob give it a 5/10. There were some parts that were cool, but overall it was pretty stupid. I think the look of the creatures is what ruined it for me. Every time I saw them I just laughed. It was pretty disappointing.

Oh, I didn't realize this was opening today. I hope I can get my husband to take me to a matinee tomorrow or Sunday. Otherwise I'll go without him. That might be better in case it super sucks, then I won't have ruined someone else's afternoon.

im really turned off here by the CGI monsters. They look so ridiculouly stupid. CGI monsters just ARE NOT in the least bit creepy. They look laughably bad and would destroy any scares your trying to create. The movie does look to have good atmosphere though (when you dont see the little stupid monsters) so I might rent it. Wouldn't be a against going to see it if my friends wanted to go but I dont think I'd go check it out by myself.

I think its good that it was remade since there was a lot of room for improvement, but if what DM is saying is true, I guess they didn't improve on much
