Watched this last night On Demand. I had heard decent things about it so I figured what the hell. I like shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures (this one especially borrows from Ghost Adventures) so I thought I'd be pretty entertained. And I was for awhile, but it gets old quick. Its about a bunch of ghost hunters setting up in this old insane asylum, and things start gettin freaky after awhile. For the first 30 minutes of the movie its basically your typical ghost hunting show, with the exception of you actually being behind the scenes this time. So its pretty slow unless that stuff interests you. I did find it funny when the main guy offers someone money to say they'd worked there for 10 years and claim they'd seen a ghost when they hadn't. They've also got a bullshit "psychic" with them.
After the first 30 minutes the creepy factor starts to set in....or atleast tries too. Slamming doors, whispers, girl gets her hair messed with. Pretty entertaining at first if you see it as a typical ghost hunting show but this is a movie, u keep expecting more after awhile. I got real annoyed after awhile when the shit hit the fan and everyone in the movie kept arguing. Over....and over....and over again. I didn't fast forward but I realy wanted to. It was getting on my nerves. The movie goes on for a bit to long I felt. With so much arguing and bickering amongst the characters that I wanted it to end. And then teres the fact you dont care about anyone. You won't find yourself caring if any of these characters get out alive or not.
I do feel like this found footage flick was done a little better than most camera work wise. This isn't like that POS cloverfield were everytime something happend the camera shook so much it would give you a seizure. The camera DID shake a lot here. But you did see what you were meant to see here. Creepy girl ghost in the bathroom. Another crazy ghost chasing them down the hall way. This movie had its moments, but nothing I'd ever watch again and nothing you need to really seek out. Towards the end of this movie I was looking forward to one thing...the end credits.
