Sometimes a film comes a long that kicks you in the nuts as to how fresh it is and gives you assurance that classic, innovative film making isn't completely dead. Just an incredible piece of art across the board.

I did find it pretty funny how the trailers made it out to be some sort of brainless racing/heist flick when it's in fact so dark, surreal and graphically violent. I can imagine the looks on the faces of teenage girls going to see this because of Ryan Gosling and expecting the latest 'Fast and the Furious' sequel.

Not sure why it would receive a limited release

Easy to see why it would receive a limited release after watching it. Not exactly the type of movie that's going to appeal to the brain dead American movie-going audience. No wonder they made it look like 'The Fast and the Furious 6' in the trailers.

That was the director's intention, he was goin' for that 80's feel. Not sure why exactly, but I liked it; gave it a unique look and tone.

No they shouldn't have. Setting a movie in the 80s is cliche and trendy as hell. And the electro house music choices was perfect for the film. Obviously the intention was surrealistic mood over being a cheesy 80's tribute or throwback.

I'm fed up to the back teeth of being told what is good and what constitutes a great film.. I'm about to go off on an angry diatribe here so bear with me while my fingers do the talking...
Drive is a fucking critics paradise that we're all supposed to love because we're told that that it's great.
Well it fucking well isn't, it's the story of a monosylabic moron who falls for a bubbleheaded blonde cretin without any dialogue but that's okay, because that's 'art' and anyone who doesn't appreciate this film doesn't 'get' it.
Drive is shit and only appeals to tossers who believe that watching a good looking idiot sporting a cool jacket does a good film make.
It's fucking tripe.
