    Psycho Holocaust 2009

On a scorching summer day 6 friends venture into the mountains for one more vacation before their lives change forever. Unbeknownst to them, their lives would forever be changed anyway. In the shadows awaits a pack of the most evil, the most vile, rejects of humanity that's addicted to violence and thirsty for blood! This is Psycho Holocaust... Which might I add sure doesn't look all glossy and shiny like just about every film that comes out these days, BUT it for sure packs a lot of fun and some very strong gore. Movies like this can be looked over now days, which is a shame.

Filmed over the course of six days in Big Falls, Wisconsin, Psycho Holocaust is the third directorial effort for Krist Rufty. It tells the story of three couples vacationing in a remote cabin as a last hurrah before their lives are changed forever by the arrival of Talina (Raine Brown) and Mark's (Billy Garberina) first child. The emotions and anxiety brought on by this life changing event are often examined in between the rapes, strangulation, disembowelment, cannibalism, flogging, and dismemberment executed on the couples by a trio of deranged Gulf War veterans. This gang is led by Buddy (Trent Haaga) who is ridiculously awesome as the leader.

This film lives and dies by its brutality and gore. It lacks in neither. As you would expect, Buddy and his band of mental defectives find creative and disturbing ways to torture the couples. Many of the gore effects are convincing. One of the kills could be considered a must see for all gorehounds.

I recommend Psycho Holocaust to fans of low budget horror. It can be poor quality at times but nothing more then what genre fans are used to by now. Just be aware that there is no humor and the brutality goes way over the top. For those of you who hate sic, filthy gore, this is not the film for you.

For some reason this looks, and sounds very familiar. Possibility that I've already seen this, but nothing seems to be that memorable. On the other hand you know us we just don't have the memory we used to

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

Me too! I think she's awesome in these kind of low budget gore/horror movies. She has aleast 4 or five more coming out. I loved her in 100 Tears and Timo Rose's Beast.

Joe Zaso is another actor that is amazing in these underground movies. He stars in several films with Raine. They were in one of my all time favourite movies Barricade.

Good review Woodenheart. I'm slowly creeping into this genre, and I think I might stream it in the next day or so. I'm so tired of traditional Hollywood trite.
